Saturday Mornings

We are open for extended hours and have a surgery starting at 8.30 a.m. with one doctor and one nurse in attendance. For patients unable to attend the surgery during weekday hours, we offer routine appointments which can be prebooked up to a week in advance and a few appointments available on the morning. As there is only one doctor on duty you may not be able to see your usual GP.

For urgent problems and home visits on a Saturday morning patients will be directed to the Out of Hours Service provided by the Primary Care Trust.

Out of Hours

If you need a doctor urgently out of hours please ring 01277 821699. Patients will be automatically transfered to the PCT provided Out of Hours Care Service.

Test Results

If you have had any tests or X-Rays and the doctor has asked you to telephone for the results, please could you ring after 11.00a.m. or preferably in the afternoon when the phones are less busy.

DISPENSING

You may obtain your medication directly from the surgery if you live more than a mile from the chemist. You must ask for this service when you first register with the practice. If you live within one mile of a chemist you have to obtain your medication from a chemist. This is a rule which cannot be altered. Please note that the official NHS interpretation of a mile is “as the crow flies”.

If you are on regular medication you may request a repeat prescription although your doctor will review your medication regularly. These prescriptions are produced on the computer and there is a printed list of your medicines attached to the right hand side of the prescription.

To obtain repeat medication, either click on the electronic link below or tick the item/s you require on your current repeat prescription and take or post the list to the surgery. You may also fax your request for a repeat prescription. The fax number is 01277 821226.

We need at least two working days for repeat prescriptions and may need longer for dispensing patients if we have to order drugs from the supplier.

To avoid possible errors we ask that all requests for repeat medications are in writing.

Please remember that when the doctor requests to see you before authorising a further repeat prescription, this request is made for your own benefit.
